“And They Arrived”

Scripture: Exodus 3:16-18; Philippians 1:3-6; Luke 8:22-26

Some say that life is a journey, not a destination. While others say that life is a destination, and not a journey. Ultimately, knowing your destination helps you to tolerate the journey.

When you know where you are going, then you are not worried about what happens on the trip or the length of the trip as long as God is with you. For the disciples in Luke 8:22-26, they were told by Jesus that they were going over to the other side of the lake. Despite the wind and raging water of the storm, God was with them. He wasn’t going to leave them in the middle of their storm. Whatever is going on in your life, it has a beginning, a middle, and an end. And God is not going to leave you in the middle of your situation. Philippians 1:6 tells us that “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ”.

You are going to make it! God is not through with you. God is just molding and making you. So stop murmuring and complaining. Instead, praise God in the midst of your situation. The devil is not fighting you because of what you are now, but he knows what you are going to be. Anytime that you strive to do anything in life, there will always be an obstacle that you have to get through. Like with the disciples in the boat, Jesus doesn’t give us all the details about our journey or take us the easy way. The question is can you follow HIS directions? A GPS navigation system will tell you exactly what to do, but you have to listen to the directions. If you follow all the directions, you will arrive at your destination.

The main point is to get there. It doesn’t matter how long or what you went through as long as you make it. As long as God is with you, you are going to make it.
