Another Filling

Scriptures: Acts 4:23-31, Acts 4:31 King James Version (KJV)
31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.

Have you fueled your car since the first time that you bought it? Chances are that you have; you understand that for your car to run, it has to be filled numerous times; it can’t run on empty. The same holds true for you spiritually. You may have received the Holy Ghost, but your spiritual tank benefits from being refueled and recharged. Too many saints are trying to function on empty or run on fumes.

The children of God were baptized with the Holy Ghost at Pentecost, but they received another filling in Acts 4:31. They wanted more power and more boldness, not for themselves, but so that they could effectively spread the Word of God.

Jesus operated in the Holy Ghost. It was only by the power and spirit of the Holy Ghost that he was able to overcome the devil. And if Jesus needed it, then so do you. You are no match for the devil by yourself; but greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. (I John 4:4). When you have the Holy Ghost, you are able to do more for God. Jesus said that these signs should follow them that believe: In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues. They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover (Mark 16:17-18).

God is looking for people who are bold in their faith, not secret service Christians. When you come to God the right way—asking for another filling, he will give you more strength, more boldness, more anointing or whatever it is that you need to overcome the enemy and spread the Gospel.
